It has just been confirmed that Davis and Eddie will be there to provide law enforcement assistance for the Dominguez Hills crits. They are the best, and their utmost priority is SAFETY and SERVICE. They have been working my races for almost 9 years, and they have been nothing but polite and professional.
If you have the chance, please let them know that their hard work is greatly appreciated by the bike racing community. All too often, they are dealing with law-breaking scumbags that definitely deserve more than a few taser shots to the junk.
Repetition builds proficiency, and they are very familiar with crit racing, breakaways, and crashes. This helps us immensely when there are vehicle escorts while racing takes place. I am very thankful that we have such great deputies working our races.
On an unrelated note, I've just been advised that Chad Gerlach has re-lapsed into his crack addiction. It's too bad that he's mentally tough enough to come back & race the Pro/I/II ranks but too weak mentally to stop chasing that dragon-even after having a daughter that he's never seen.
When you see these bums on the street: give them food, give them drink, give them blankets but NEVER give them money. By the time they hit the streets, they have burned all their bridges, burned off their family & friends, and have stolen to feed their habit. These are not actions of honorable people. The world has no use for another weak man.
